Is this “normal?”

I just want to be happy…

This a super common question I get from clients – and totally valid!

Of course, you want to know if it’s “normal,” how long it’s going to last, and how to fix it so you can get back to your life.

Anxiety and depression are a real pain in the ass…

… and they create (at the very minimum) a bunch of tiny little roadblocks to our daily functioning and opportunities for experiencing happiness.

They can affect our eating and sleeping patterns – sleeping too little or too much, loss of appetite or stress eating.

Anxiety and depression can isolate us from peers and our family – we just don’t have the energy or desire to engage with those around us.

They can cause unhealthy coping skills – poor nutrition, substance use/experimentation, and even self-harm.

It often sits for much longer than we are aware and can start to show up in more intense and unsafe ways.

So, what do we do…?

We will start with establishing your baseline. We will work from a holistic approach, assessing your personal daily needs to create a plan for alleviating and better managing symptoms and overall reduce the impact that anxiety and/or depression have on your life.

We’ll continue to build on each skill set that is most effective for you to live a healthier and fulfilling life.

We’ll measure your progress on a bi-weekly basis to be sure your new skills are the right fit and are making the changes your want. I’ll help you develop action plans and therapeutic “homework” to engage in outside of sessions to solidify and reinforce these new skills and help incorporate them into your lifestyle.

Once the initial symptoms relief is in full effect…

… we can dive deeper into your sense of self and connect the dots to underlying patterns and history of anxiety and depression in your life.

We’ll work on getting to the root of the issues so that our work will be most effective for long-term change. This comprehensive and systemic approach is what will allow you to regain the power and control over your life and begin living the life you were truly meant to live.
